Bromatología informa nuevas fechas en el cronograma semanal de vacunación antirrábica canina y felina
Desde la Dirección de Bromatología del Municipio de Olavarría se informa que continúa la Campaña de Vacunación Antirrábica canina y felina, por lo que se solicita a todo el Partido que acerque a sus mascotas a los distintos puntos ubicados en diferentes barrios y localidades.
La campaña se llevará a cabo en los siguientes puntos y horarios la próxima semana:
– Lunes 4/11: Barrio Villa Aurora de 10:00 a 12:30 horas en la Sociedad de Fomento (Los Gladiolos y Bolívar).
– Martes 5/11: Barrio Belén de 10:00 a 12:30 horas en Jardín Belén (Av. Emiliozzi y Calle 118).
– Miércoles 6/11: Barrio 12 de octubre de 10:00 a 12:30 horas en CAPS N°6 (Hipólito Yrigoyen y Calle 13).
– Jueves 7/11: Barrio Nicolás Avellaneda de 10.00 a 12:30 horas en Saavedra y Calle 16.
La actividad busca promover la vacunación contra la rabia en animales, debido a que es la principal medida de prevención para esta enfermedad y, a la par, sensibilizar sobre el cuidado responsable de animales de compañía.
La rabia es una enfermedad producida por un virus que afecta al sistema nervioso central de los mamíferos, incluidas las personas. No tiene cura y el tratamiento sólo es eficaz si se aplica antes del inicio de los síntomas. Por eso, es fundamental prevenirla.
El virus está presente en la saliva de los animales infectados, principalmente perros, pero también pueden ser gatos y algunos mamíferos silvestres, como murciélagos. Se transmite por medio de mordeduras, arañazos y/o al lamer zonas lesionadas del cuerpo o mucosas de otros animales o personas.
Con respecto a las vacunas, se aplicarán de manera gratuita en gatos y perros mayores de tres (3) meses. Se aclaró que no se vacunará a hembras preñadas o en lactancia, como así tampoco en animales que presenten síntomas de enfermedad.
Se pide a la comunidad que acerquen a sus mascotas con correa, collar y el agregado de bozal para aquellas razas y/o cruzas de los denominados perros potencialmente peligrosos. En cuanto a felinos, se solicita trasladarlos en transportadoras, mochila o bolsos, no sueltos ni en cajas, a fin de prevenir posibles escapes.
