Mediadora de todas las gracias

A María se la llama Medianera o Mediadora desde muy antiguo. Este título se lo reconoce en documentos oficiales de la Iglesia y ha sido acogido en la liturgia, introduciéndose en 1921 una fiesta dedicada a María Medianera de todas las gracias, y el Papa Benedicto XV instituyó esa fiesta el 7 de noviembre, en ella nos invita a recurrir siempre con confianza a esta mediación de la Madre del Salvador.
Mediadora de todas las gracias. Después de su asunción a los cielos, las “gracias” se conceden a los hombres por su intercesión. Esta intercesión maternal es inferior a la de Cristo, pero superior a la de todos los santos. Los últimos Papas han enseñado la doctrina de que todas las gracias se conceden por la Santísima Virgen. La mediación de María es cualificada por su maternidad divina y no hace sombra a la única y perfecta mediación de Cristo, único mediador (Lumen gentium,60). Es Cristo quien nos lleva a María. Él nos lleva a ella porque no quiere que caminemos sin una Madre… “María es -la que sabe transformar una cueva de animales en la casa de Jesús. -Ella es la amiga siempre atenta para que no falte el vino en nuestras vidas. -Es la del corazón abierto por la espada que comprende todas las penas. -Es la misionera para acompañarnos por la vida. -Es la que camina con nosotros, lucha con nosotros, media todas las gracias (E.G 286).
Cristo es el Mediador, el puente que atravesamos para dirigirnos al Padre (cf. Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, 2674). Es el único Redentor: no hay co-redentores con Cristo. Cada oración que elevamos a Dios es por Cristo, con Cristo y en Cristo y se realiza gracias a su intercesión. (…) Jesucristo: el único Mediador entre Dios y los hombres. De la única mediación de Cristo toman sentido y valor las otras referencias que el cristianismo encuentra para su oración y su devoción, en primer lugar, a la Virgen María, la Madre de Jesús. Ella ocupa en la vida y, por tanto, también en la oración del cristiano un lugar privilegiado, porque es la Madre de Jesús. Las Iglesias de Oriente la han representado a menudo como la Odighitria, aquella que “indica el camino”, es decir el Hijo Jesucristo. En la iconografía cristiana su presencia está en todas partes, y a veces con gran protagonismo, pero siempre en relación al Hijo y en función de Él. Sus manos, sus ojos, su actitud son un “catecismo” viviente y siempre apuntan al fundamento, el centro: Jesús. María está totalmente dirigida a Él (cf. CCE, 2674). Dice el papa Francisco: “María no es corredentora: no es una diosa”: su papel no es obrar lo que realiza Cristo. Su misión es distinta: es indicar con su existencia al Redentor, manifestar en sí misma la potencia salvadora de su Hijo y ser la Madre de todos, de Jesús y de la familia de Dios que es la Iglesia: madre de la gracia que sólo de Cristo procede. Es una misión grandiosa, una colaboración verdadera en la Redención, que está solamente al alcance de ella”.
Ella, con su amor materno cuida de los hermanos de su Hijo que peregrinan y se debaten entre peligros y angustias y luchan contra el pecado hasta que sean llevados a la Patria feliz, hasta el puerto de la salvación eterna. “Bajo tu amparo nos acogemos, Santa Madre de Dios; no deseches las súplicas que te dirigimos en nuestras necesidades, antes bien, líbranos siempre de todo peligro, oh Virgen gloriosa y bendita”. Como mediadora maternal, María presenta a Cristo nuestros deseos, nuestras súplicas y nos trasmite los dones divinos, intercediendo continuamente en nuestro favor. Con esta fiesta se da inicio al mes de María en Argentina.
