Ludopatía adolescente: «Los chicos apuestan hasta en los recreos»
El arzobispo de Córdoba, cardenal Ángel Rossi SJ, insistió en expresar su preocupación por el tema de las apuestas online, sobre todo en los niños y jóvenes, a raíz de que la Cámara de Diputados lo pondrá a discusión en la sesión extraordinaria del próximo miércoles.
Para abordar el caso, el vicepresidente primero de la Conferencia Episcopal Argentina se refiere al nuevo libro La esperanza no defrauda nunca, que el Papa Francisco escribió con el periodista argentino Hernán Reyes Alcaide de cara al Jubileo 2025, en el que cuestiona a los gobiernos en los casos de ludopatía.
«Francisco se mostró preocupado por la proliferación entre los jóvenes de las denominadas apuestas online. Aseguro que se trata de una falsa ilusión, de una salvación individual en medio de contexto de crisis cada vez más extendidos. La masificación de los teléfonos inteligentes, dice el Papa ha convertido al celular de nuestros jóvenes en un casino móvil, abriéndole puestas a una multitud de opciones de apuestas cada vez más amplia de disposición inmediata que anestesian el sentimiento de responsabilidad», planteó.
«Nuestros gobiernos, agrega el Papa, no pueden ser cómplices de una instigación a la ludopatía que provoca serios daños a la salud emocional y financiera de nuestra juventud. Y, agrega, estas herramientas de juego, incluso tienen los avales para para patrocinar equipos de una amplia gama de deportes generando una familiarización con las apuestas incompatibles con los valores del bien común, con los valores del deporte y una sociedad sana y fraterna», subrayó en su reflexión semanal en Radio Continental.
El cardenal Rossi se enfocó en el caso local y recordó que en julio la Iglesia ya había alertado sobre el tema en un documento firmado por muchas pastorales diocesanas titulado «Apostar no es un juego». En ese texto también se reclamaban medias urgentes contra la ludopatía en los más chicos.
«Queremos expresar nuestra profunda preocupación por lo que esta pasando con las denominadas apuestas online. Coincidimos en que se esta naturalizando una conducta muy nociva para todas las personas, para la vida en comunidad y sobre todo para adolescentes y niños y sus familias. Los chicos apuestan hasta en los recreos», citó sintetizando el planteo de las pastorales sociales.
«Vuelvo al Papa, ‘me da tristeza ver que los partidos de fútbol y las estrellas deportivas promuevan tantas formas de apuestas’. Eso no es un juego, es una adicción, es meterle la mano en el bolsillo a la gente, sobre todo a los trabajadores y a los pobres», advirtió y profundizó: «Pensando en una encuesta reciente de la asociación de loterías, casinos y quinielas de la Argentina, a seis de cada diez padres le preocupa que sus hijos apuesten online y de acuerdo a ese estudio, la edad de inicio de los adolescentes es entre los 13 y los 17 años».
El arzobispo consideró «una vergüenza» la metodología que se usó para que no derogar la ley que permite el juego online de niños y jóvenes. «Así como tantas veces uno hace, orgulloso, propaganda de nuestra Córdoba en este caso les pido que no miren para este lado y si lo hacen que sea para no imitarnos», pidió.
«En Córdoba ciudad están prohibidos los casinos, no en el interior sino en la ciudad. Es una especie de burla prohibir los casinos y lo tiene uno en la mano digamos. Algunos gobiernos dicen que nos quedemos tranquilos porque van a gestar medios médicos y psicológicos para luchar contra la ludopatía; es como decir ‘les vamos a atender una enfermedad que nosotros mismos hemos provocado’, una cuestión casi burlesca», concluyó.+
