México: Con el olavarriense Mateo Conte, Argentina fue campeón panamericano de pádel
Los planteles de menores se consagraron en el Panamericano de México al vencer en ambas ramas al local. La selección argentina, esta integrada por el joven deportista olavarriense Mateo Conte.
La Selección Argentina se consagró en el Panamericano de Menores 2024 tras vencer tanto en la rama femenina como en la masculina al anfitrión, México, en la ciudad de Aguascalientes.
Las primeras en salir a la cancha fueron las chicas, que lograron el título en dos puntos: primero se impusieron Zoe Benítez y Victoria Vílchez por 6-3 y 6-4 en la Sub 14, y luego Lourdes Flores y Candela Zilich por 7-6 (6) y 6-4 en la Sub 16. El último punto, en la Sub 18, fue para México luego de que Fiorella Propato y Francesca Floriani, las representantes argentinas, no pudieran completar el partido por algunas molestias. En ese momento, el anfitrión había ganado el primer set por 7-6 (4) y lideraba el segundo por 3-2.
Así, el resultado final fue de 2-1 para las argentinas, que defendieron el título obtenido en el 2022 y que cerraron un torneo perfecto al finalizar invictas. En su recorrido, se impusieron por 3-0 ante Ecuador, Chile y Paraguay en la fase de grupos y por 2-1 frente a Brasil en las semifinales.

Más tarde, llegó el turno de los chicos, quienes también lograron asegurarse el título en los primeros dos puntos: Santino Contreras y Julián Bordón ganaron por 6-2 y 6-1 en la Sub 14 y después, Antonio Graupera y Naim Díaz hicieron lo propio con otro 6-2 y 6-1 en la Sub 16. Para finalizar, Filippo Nicocia y el olavarriense Mateo Conte obtuvieron el tercer punto con un doble 6-3 en la Sub 18.
De esta manera, la Selección masculina terminó imponiéndose con un resultado final de 3-0 ante México y defendió también su título. En la fase de grupos vencieron por 3-0 a Ecuador y Estados Unidos y en las semifinales, a Brasil por el mismo resultado.
Además de las jugadoras y jugadores que disputaron estas finales, la delegación completa de campeonas estuvo compuesta por Victoria Sánchez y Tatiana Trejo (Sub 14), Greta Gavio y Pía Gosteli (Sub 16) y Sol Capello y Sasha Gómez (Sub 18).
Mientras que en la delegación completa de campeones estuvieron también Joaquín Botta y Gonzalo Weinmeister (Sub 14); Santino Córdoba y Andrés Graupera (Sub 16) y el olavarriense Mateo Conte y José Funes (Sub 18).
El cuerpo técnico se compuso por: Virginia Mazzuchi, Cecilia Reiter, Federico De Pascual y Javier Blanco.
Mateo Conte en su cuenta de Instagram agradeció al cuerpo técnico y jugadores por el importante logro obtenido en tierra azteca.
