Bromatología continúa la campaña de vacunación antirrábica: cronograma del mes de octubre
Campaña antirrábica en distintos puntos del Partido de Olavarría.
Desde la Dirección de Bromatología del Municipio de Olavarría se trabaja de manera permanente en el cuidado de animales, ofreciendo de manera gratuita servicios que resultan esenciales no solo para el cuidado de nuestras mascotas, sino también para prevenir enfermedades.
En este contexto, continúa la campaña anual de vacunación antirrábica: se solicita a la comunidad de todo el Partido que acerque a sus animales (caninos y felinos) a los distintos puntos ubicados en diferentes barrios y localidades.
Se informa el calendario de la siguiente semana:
– Martes 1: Villa Magdalena, NIDO/CAPS N° 6 (Córdoba y Necochea).
– Jueves 3: Parque Mitre, Paseo de la Salud (Brown y Belgrano).
– Sábado 5: Recalde, Delegación Municipal (También habrá quirófano móvil).
La actividad busca promover la vacunación contra la rabia en animales, debido a que es la principal medida de prevención para esta enfermedad, y también sensibilizar sobre el cuidado responsable de animales de compañía.
-¿Qué es la rabia?
La rabia es una enfermedad producida por un virus que afecta al sistema nervioso central de los mamíferos, incluidas las personas. No tiene cura y el tratamiento sólo es eficaz si se aplica antes del inicio de los síntomas. Por eso, es fundamental prevenirla.
– ¿Cómo se transmite la rabia?
En nuestra zona, el reservorio del virus son los murciélagos, los cuales se alimentan de insectos, no atacan a los animales ni al hombre, pero al estar enfermos pueden caer en techos, patios o en la vía pública y ser encontrados por nuestras mascotas, las cuales se acercarán por instinto (para jugar o cazar) y pueden ser mordidos por estos.
– ¿Cómo prevenir la rabia?
La prevención se realiza mediante la vacunación anual de perros y gatos, a partir de los 3 meses de edad.
